How Payments Analytics Works

Access requirements. You'll need view access to "Analytics & Reports."

  • Unlike Customer analytics, Payments does have a store selector. You can switch which store you're viewing right on the page, and it updates without a full reload.

  • You might see a slightly different "Sales tax" report than a colleague at another account. If your account uses Additional Fees (like bottle deposits), the report adjusts automatically to include them — there's no setting to change this yourself.

  • "Cash drawer" only appears here if your account hasn't moved to the newer Cash Drawer Sessions feature yet. Once it has, this tab disappears and "Cash drawers" (a separate item in the left-menu bar) takes over.

  • Credit card can only be scheduled monthly, and not before the 4th of the month. That gives card processor data time to settle before it's sent. Every other tab here can be scheduled weekly or monthly, but none of them daily.

Important: "Reconciliation" here is different from reviewing a specific cash drawer. Reconciliation shows daily totals across every tender type, store-wide — for one specific drawer's count, use "Cash drawers" in the left-menu bar instead.

Step 2

Set your date range and, if you have more than one store, choose which one to view.

Step 3

Toggle between "By Business Date" and "By Payout Date" depending on what you're trying to match up.

Step 4

Review the totals at the top, then the card-brand breakdown and transaction detail below.

Viewing Cash Activity

Step 5

Click "Cash movements" to see payouts and withdrawals across your terminals, with reason and date filters.

Note: if you also see a "Cash drawer" tab, that's an older view — most accounts now use "Cash drawers" in the left-menu bar instead.

Viewing Daily Totals by Tender Type

Step 6

Click "Reconciliation" to see one row per day, broken down by every tender type you accept — credit, cash, house accounts, gift cards, and more.

Viewing Sales Tax

Step 7

Click "Sales tax" to see tax collected, refunded, and due, along with a list of tax-exempt orders.

Viewing House Account Balances

Step 8

Click "House accounts" to see total balance owed, credit extended, and utilization across your customers with house accounts, as of your selected date range.

Troubleshooting

  • You're looking for one specific cash drawer's count: that's not here — go to "Cash drawers" in the left-menu bar instead.

  • Your "Sales tax" report looks different from what a colleague described: that can happen if your account uses Additional Fees, like bottle deposits — the report adjusts automatically, there's no setting to change it.

  • You don't see a "Cash drawer" tab anymore: that's expected once your account has moved to the newer Cash Drawer Sessions feature — it replaces this tab.

  • You can't schedule "Credit card" weekly: that's expected — it can only be scheduled monthly, and not before the 4th of the month.

  • You're trying to change your tax rate from here: this only reports on tax already collected — to change your rate, see "Changing Your Tax Rate" instead.

  • You want to set up or edit a house account, not just see balances: see "Create a House Account" instead — this page is reporting only.
