How Employee Activity Analytics Works
Access requirements. You'll need view access to "Analytics & Reports" — the same manager/owner-level access as every other analytics section. There's no self-service view here; access means seeing every employee's numbers, not just your own.
This isn't Shifts. "Employees" and "Shifts" both live under Analytics & reporting, but they cover different things — Employees is about sales behavior, Shifts is about hours worked. See "Tracking Employee Hours" for that.
Anomalies doesn't notify anyone. Nothing gets flagged to an inbox automatically — you have to open the report and look.
"Above average" is relative to your own store, not a number you set. Every stat is compared against your store's own average for that period, and whatever's above it gets highlighted.
The exact layout of Anomalies can look different depending on your account. Some accounts see a simpler version; others see a fuller breakdown with more categories. Only the simpler version can currently be scheduled.
Deactivating an employee doesn't erase their historical data. Past activity stays associated with them even after they're no longer active.

Viewing Employee Activity
Step 1
Click on "Analytics & reporting" in the left-menu bar, then click on "Employees." "Activity" opens by default.
Step 2
Set your date range and, if you have more than one store, choose which one to view.
Step 3
Review "Store Averages" at the top, then the Employee Activity table below — transactions, net sales, average ticket, items per transaction, refund rate, customer attach rate, and new customers.
Viewing Anomalies
Step 4
Click "Anomalies."
Step 5
Review each category's store average, then look for employees highlighted above it — categories cover discounts and price actions, refunds and manual card entry, compliance overrides, inventory adjustments, and cash handling.
Step 6
Check the "Event Log" at the bottom for a row-by-row list of flagged events, filterable by event type.
Troubleshooting
You want to see just your own numbers, not everyone's: this isn't set up for self-service — access to this report means access to every employee's data, or none at all.
You expected an alert when something looked off, and didn't get one: nothing here sends a notification — check the report yourself, or schedule it on a cadence if that's available on your account.
Your Anomalies page looks different from a screenshot you've seen elsewhere: some accounts see a simpler layout than others, and only the simpler one can currently be scheduled.
You're looking for hours worked, not sales behavior: that's "Shifts," a separate item in the same Analytics & reporting menu — see "Tracking Employee Hours."
An employee who no longer works here still shows up in past data: that's expected — deactivating someone doesn't remove their historical activity.
