Exporting Reports as PDF

PDF export turns a scheduled report into a ready-to-read document instead of a data file — useful when the person receiving it wants to look at the report, not open it in a spreadsheet.

How Exporting Reports as PDF Works

Access requirements. Same as any scheduled report — you need view or edit access to "Analytics & Reports" for the store(s) involved to subscribe to or edit a report schedule.

  • PDF renders the whole report page as a document, not raw data. Unlike CSV, XLSX, JSON, or JSONL, which export the underlying data, PDF captures the entire report page as a formatted, portrait-oriented document.

  • PDF and the data formats are mutually exclusive. You can subscribe to one or the other, never both on the same schedule — checking "PDF" clears any CSV/XLSX/JSON/JSONL selections, and checking one of those clears "PDF."

  • Existing report subscriptions can be switched to PDF. You don't need to create a new subscription just to change format.

Subscribing with PDF Format

Step 1

Open the report you want, then click "Subscribe."

Step 2

In the Format section, check "PDF" instead of a data format. Checking it automatically clears any CSV/XLSX/JSON/JSONL boxes you had checked.

Step 3

Finish setting up the subscription — recipients, cadence, and everything else — as usual, then save.

Switching an Existing Schedule to PDF

Step 4

Open "Edit report schedule" for the subscription you want to change.

Step 5

In the Format section, check "PDF." Same as the subscribe modal, this clears any data-format selections, and checking a data format clears PDF.

Step 6

Save your changes.

What It Looks Like

  • A PDF export is the entire report page rendered as a formatted, portrait document — not something you'd open in a spreadsheet.

  • The Format section only ever allows one selection at a time — PDF or a data format, never both together.

Troubleshooting

  • "PDF" is disabled on "Edit report schedule": this schedule doesn't have page configuration set, which happens on a small number of older, legacy schedules. Set up a new subscription instead if you need PDF on this report.

  • Checked "PDF" and your other format selections disappeared: expected — PDF and the data formats (CSV/XLSX/JSON/JSONL) can't be selected together on one schedule.

  • Need both a PDF and a data export of the same report: set up two separate subscriptions — one for PDF, one for whichever data format you need.
