Making a Product Sellable Online

"Sellable online" controls whether an item is eligible to be listed with your connected third-party ordering partners, DoorDash, Uber Eats, City Hive, and Bottle Capps. There's no separate Scotch-run storefront; "online" here means those partner listings.

Making a Product Sellable Online

How Making a Product Sellable Online Works

Access requirements. Same "Product list" edit permission as any other item edit, per store — there's no separate sales-channel permission for this specifically.

  • It's one setting covering every partner at once, not per-partner. Turning it off pulls the item from every connected partner's menu or sync feed simultaneously. There's no way to make an item available on DoorDash but not Uber Eats through this setting alone.

  • "Sellable online" means eligible, not guaranteed visible. Each partner runs its own checks before it lists an item. The item also has to be active, not deleted, and in stock above the Par value set in that partner's settings — the quantity at or below which items show as unavailable. So this setting is necessary, but not enough on its own.

  • If your store uses open pricing, an item set to "Open price" is never sent to partners. An open price item is priced at the register, so there's no set price to publish. It's held back no matter how "Sellable online" is set. Your "Sellable online" choice is kept as you left it, so turning "Open price" back off puts the item under that choice again. You'll find "Open price" directly beneath "Sellable online," on the item's edit form and in the drawer's Advanced settings section — if it isn't there, your store doesn't use open pricing and this doesn't apply to you.

  • A "Yes" under "Sellable online" is the setting you saved, not proof the item is going out. An open price item still shows the "Sellable online" value you chose — in Advanced settings and in the product list column — even though no partner receives it. If you rely on those screens to check your online catalog, check "Open price" alongside them.

  • It's set per variant, not per product. On a multi-variant item, each variant has its own "Sellable online" value.

  • It defaults to on. New variants are sellable online unless someone turns it off — this isn't an opt-in setting.

  • This is unrelated to in-store availability. Turning it off doesn't touch whether the item can be sold at the register — that's controlled by separate settings. This only affects what's sent to connected ordering partners.

  • There's no terminal equivalent. This is a back-office-only setting with no counterpart in ScotchPos.

Turning It On or Off for One Item

Step 1

Open the item's Product Drawer.

Step 2

Go to the "Advanced settings" section.

Step 3

Toggle "Sellable online."

Step 4

Save.

Editing in Bulk

Step 5

On the product list, find the "Sellable online" column. If it's hidden, add it from the column picker.

Step 6

Edit the checkbox on a row directly, or select multiple items and choose "Edit sellable online" from the bulk actions menu, then set "Is sellable online" to yes or no. Take care not to pick "Edit sellable" — that's a different setting, covering in-store sale.

Step 7

Confirm the change.

What It Looks Like

  • The Advanced settings section shows a simple yes/no icon next to "Sellable online" in read-only view. It shows what you saved, not whether the item is going out.

  • If your store uses open pricing, hovering over "Open price" — either on the item's edit form or in Advanced settings — shows the note "Open price items are never sellable online."

  • The product list column is sortable and filterable, so you can see every item's saved "Sellable online" setting at a glance — again, the setting, not the outcome.

  • Turning this off doesn't remove the item from your own in-store catalog — it only affects what's sent out to connected ordering partners.

Troubleshooting

  • An item marked "sellable online" still doesn't show up on a connected partner. Each partner also requires the item to be active, not deleted, and in stock above its par level — check those before assuming the setting didn't save.

  • Looking for a way to control this per partner. There isn't one. This flag is a single gate that applies to every connected partner at once — DoorDash, Uber Eats, City Hive, and Bottle Capps all read from the same value.

  • Can't find the toggle. It's in the Advanced settings section of the drawer, not the main pricing or details section.

  • Turned it off and the item still rings up fine at the register. Expected — this setting has nothing to do with in-store sale eligibility, only with what's exposed to ordering partners.
