Product Details Drawer

Layout and Navigation

How to Open It

From the Product list, click any item. The redesigned drawer slides in from the right with three tabs at the top: Details, Sales and orders, and Related.

Wider Drawer with Responsive Sizing

The drawer is now slightly wider. On smaller screens, it opens as a centered popup rather than a side panel, so you always have enough room to work.

Inline Editing with Per-Section Saves

The header now has a single Edit / Done toggle. When you enter edit mode, all sections become editable in place. Each section has its own Save button, so you can update one section without committing changes to the whole product.

Deep linking

The URL in your browser reflects the current drawer state — which product, store, and tab you’re viewing. You can copy the URL and share a direct link to any product drawer view.

Header

Pack Size Switcher

If a product has multiple pack sizes, clicking the product name in the header reveals a dropdown to quickly jump between them — no need to close the drawer and search again.

Inactive Badge

A red “Inactive” pill appears next to the product name for any variant that isn’t currently active.

More actions menu

The kebab menu (⋮) now includes: Full edit (legacy page), Add pack size, Add to label print queue, and Delete item.

Details Tab - Reorganized

The Details tab has been restructured from a flat list of fields into clearly labeled sections:

  • Price and cost setup - Sell / Order toggles, Stock, Avg / last cost, Price, and Margin all visible at a glance. Avg / last cost shows two figures together: the average you’ve paid for the item across your deliveries, and the price you paid on the most recent one. Costs aren’t typed in on this row — click the pencil icon next to the cost to open the Edit cost window, so all cost changes happen in one place. If you run more than one store, this section — along with Advanced settings and the Sales and orders tab — lists every store on your account, including warehouses and stores you haven’t opened yet, so their price, cost, and stock can be seen and edited here.

  • Item details - Lays out volume, container, pack size, SKU, UPC, brand, style, and location clearly in one place. Shelf and Bin are kept per store. The Shelf, Bin, and Location/bin fields shown here reflect only the store you’re currently viewing; to fill them in for several stores side by side, open Full edit from the kebab menu and use the Shelf and Bin columns. Container type now also offers Aluminum bottle, Soft pack, and Hard pack, and item names pick up the abbreviation you’ve set up for each of the new types.

  • Link Inventory - The new Link inventory button lets you connect items that share stock across pack sizes. Example: if you sell a beer as a 12-pack and also as singles, link them — and Scotch POS will automatically break down the 12-pack as you sell singles. No more manual adjustments to keep counts accurate. Volume and container type can still be edited while an item’s inventory is linked: the window lists the items that share its stock and offers an “Also apply to linked items” checkbox, and leaving it unchecked changes only the item you opened. Both windows also note that deposits and other automatic fees are re-evaluated for every item the change touches.

  • Ordering details - Covers distributor and receiving details.

  • Promotions and sales - Shows all promotions and sales relevant to the item. A promotion listed on an item that isn’t discountable is tagged “Ineligible,” with a note that the item is marked not discountable. Sale rows aren’t affected, because sale pricing applies either way.

  • General Info - Displays information such as brand, style, ABV, etc.

  • Advanced settings - Where you can apply all relevant tags to a product.

Sales and Orders Tab - New

A complete performance view for the item:

  • Order history - Last 3 orders per location.

  • Sales history - Across 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, and recent sales periods.

  • Stock overview - On hand, reserved, on order, units/week, days of supply.

  • Inventory adjustments - Sold, received, manual, transfers.

View all stock changes and View all sales take you to a full filtered page if you need to dig deeper.

Related Tab - New

Shows all other sizes and packagings of the same product, grouped by format (for example, “750ml BTL”). Click any item to load its drawer. The item you’re currently viewing is highlighted and labelled “(This item),” so it still appears here even when it’s the only size or is inactive. To take an item out of this product and put it under a different one, open the kebab menu on the current item and choose Move to another product — you can move it into a product you already have or into a new one you create as you go.
