Navigating to Promotions
Step 1
Go ahead and select the Promotions page, which you'll find under the Products section on the left side panel.
Step 2
You'll now see the Promotions page, which displays all your set-up promotions and their details organized in columns.
Step 3
Next, click New Promotion in the top right corner to begin creating a new promotion.
Configuring Promotion Details
Step 4
Now, you'll want to enter a name for your promotion. You can also optionally add a customer-facing name, which is useful for shelf labels, include a description, and even limit the promotion to specific customer groups, such as a bourbon club.
Step 5
There are four main types of promotions you can create: item discounts, case discounts, mix and match, and bundles.
Item discounts allow you to apply a discount, such as a percentage off, to a wide group of products. This differs from a sale, which directly adjusts the price. You can also limit these discounts to specific days or times.
Case discounts, on the other hand, apply when customers buy the same item in a certain quantity, like half or full cases of wine or liquor.
Mix and match discounts let customers receive a discount when purchasing different products within the same group. For example, they could mix different types of wine to reach a quantity of six bottles.
Bundles offer the same item in a fixed quantity for a fixed rate, such as "two for $3" or "three for $4".
Setting Up an Item Discount
Step 6
First, you'll set conditions to determine which items will receive the discount. You can filter by pack size, brand, department, UPC, or SKU.
Step 7
For example, you might select Brand and then choose 14 Hands.
Step 8
Next, decide if you want the conditions to automatically apply when met at the register.
Step 9
Then, enter the specific discount amount, for instance, a 5% discount.
Step 10
Now, set a start date for your promotion. You also have the option to set an end date.
Step 11
You can also add a time slot if your promotion is only valid on certain days or during specific times, such as Sundays only, or a happy hour from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Alternatively, you can clear the time slot or select all days to run the promotion continuously.
Setting Up a Case Discount
Step 12
For a case discount, you'll want to set the condition so that the case count or unit count is greater than or equal to a certain value.
Step 13
First, select the relevant department, for example, Wine.
Step 14
Then, set the discount details, such as 10% off for buying more than six of the same bottles.
Step 15
Next, choose whether to automatically apply this discount.
Step 16
Finally, configure the start and end dates, along with any specific times, for the promotion.
Setting Up a Mix and Match Discount
Step 17
To begin, select the department, such as Wine.
Step 18
Then, add multiple conditions, for example, limiting the container size to 750ml.
Step 19
You'll notice that a preview of eligible products will appear based on your selections.
Step 20
Now, define the specific conditions that must be met for customers to receive the discount. This could include requirements like buying a bottle over $15, purchasing two bottles, or buying over one liter in total volume.
Setting Up a Bundle
Step 21
For a bundle, first select the department, such as Spirits.
Step 22
Then, add conditions to limit the bundle to specific items, for example, 50ml bottles of Fireball.
Step 23
You can further limit the items by pack size, for instance, setting it to 1 for singles only, to exclude sleeves from the bundle.
Step 24
Now, enter the bundle configuration, such as a quantity of three for a fixed price of $5.
Step 25
Finally, choose to automatically apply these conditions.
