How Adding a Pack Size Works
Access requirements. Edit access to the "Product list" permission, same as other product-editing tasks.
This is a different flow from "Add Item" on a product's own page. "Add Item" opens the full add-product wizard for building a product from scratch. "Add pack size" is a separate, faster flow for adding just one more size to an item that already exists, and it lives in different places on screen.
It checks for duplicates as you type. Entering a pack size that already exists on this item shows a warning before you can even submit.
Pricing and cost start out suggested, not blank. Store settings pre-fill by scaling the size you're basing this on — check the numbers before saving rather than assuming they're exactly right for the new size.
Store settings are per-store, with a shortcut for filling them all at once. On multi-location accounts, an "All stores" row lets you set something once and apply it everywhere, instead of repeating it per store.

Adding a Pack Size
Step 1
Open the item you're adding a size to, click "⋮," then click "Add pack size."
Step 2
Under "Add new size," fill in "Pack size," "Per case," "SKU," "UPC," and "Distributor ID." Check "Your existing sizes" first if you want to see what's already set up before typing in a new one.
Step 3
Continue to the next step and review the per-store settings — Sellable, Orderable, Stock, Case cost, Unit cost, Price, and Margin or Markup for each store. These start out suggested and scaled from the size you're basing this on, not blank.
Step 4
On multi-location accounts, use the "All stores" row to fill in a value once and apply it everywhere, instead of repeating it per store.
Step 5
Click "Create item."
Troubleshooting
You typed a pack size that already exists: that's flagged before you can submit — check "Your existing sizes" to see what's already there instead of creating a near-duplicate.
You're not sure whether to use "Add Item" or "Add pack size": "Add Item" opens the same wizard used to add a brand-new product entirely; "Add pack size" is the faster path for adding just one more size to an item you already carry.
You saw a "+ Add pack size" button somewhere else and it didn't look like this flow: that's a different thing with a similar name — inside the "Add Item" wizard's own Pack sizes table, "+ Add pack size" just adds another row to that table for a product you're still creating. It's not connected to this flow at all.
The suggested price or cost looks off: it's scaled automatically from the size you're basing this on — always double-check it rather than assuming it's exactly right for the new size.
