Before You Start
What's in the box. Your kit includes the Zebra DS2208 Barcode Scanner, a gooseneck stand (base, flexible neck, and scanner cradle), a USB interface cable (USB-A to RJ45-style connector), and a quick start guide.
The stand is optional. Some merchants skip it entirely and just use the scanner handheld — that's completely fine.
Assembling the Stand
Step 1
Unpack the stand components: the base, the gooseneck (flexible arm), and the scanner cradle.
Step 2
Insert the threaded end of the gooseneck into the hole in the stand base.
Step 3
Tighten the supplied wing nut onto the threaded end, underneath the base.
Note: if you're not using the stand at all, skip ahead to connecting the scanner.
Connecting the Scanner
Step 4
Locate the RJ45-style port on the scanner handle.
Step 5
Plug the RJ45-style end of the cable into the scanner port until it clicks into place.
Step 6
Thread the cable through the stand's cable port (if you're using the stand), then plug the USB-A end into an available USB port on your terminal.
Configuring the Scanner for Scotch
Step 7
Scan the SNAPI barcode to set it up correctly for Scotch.

Testing the Scanner
Step 8
Open the shopping cart screen in the Scotch app.
Step 9
Scan a product barcode to confirm the scanner is reading correctly.
Optional: Mounting the Stand
The stand's base has screw holes if you'd like to secure it permanently to a surface. Screws aren't included.
Troubleshooting
Your scanner isn't connecting: on the terminal itself, go to Settings → Devices → "Add Zebra Device." Keep the scanner on its cradle and scan the barcodes shown in the prompt to add it manually.
You're not sure whether you need the stand: you don't — the scanner works fine handheld if you'd rather skip it.
