How Accessing Device Settings and Support Works
Access requirements. Any logged-in employee can open Settings — there's no manager or role gate on it, and unlike most other nav items, it stays reachable even during an active payment.
One screen, a few tabs. "Hardware" (connected printers, scanners, cash drawer, payment devices), "Data" (config sync status), "Support info" (app version and diagnostic logs), and — only on stores with Adyen enabled — "Adyen device" (terminal pairing).
"Support" here means diagnostics, not a way to talk to anyone. There's no chat, contact form, or phone number inside the app. Support info just shows your version/config and lets you send a log bundle — you still reach out to support the normal way, then send logs from here if they ask for them.
Where to Access Each Feature
To… | Go to |
Manage connected printers, scanners, cash drawer, or payment devices | Gear icon → Hardware |
Check config sync status or refresh it manually | Gear icon → Data |
Check your app version or send diagnostic logs to support | Gear icon → Support info |
Pair or configure an Adyen payment terminal (if enabled) | Gear icon → Adyen device |
Opening Settings
Step 1
Tap the gear icon in the left nav rail — it's available from anywhere in the app (Sales, Transactions, Inventory, and so on), and it still works even during an active payment.
Step 2
Choose a tab from the menu on the left: "Hardware," "Data," "Support info," or, if your store has it enabled, "Adyen device."
Managing Connected Hardware
Step 3
Under "Hardware," review your connected printers, scanners, cash drawer, and payment devices.
Step 4
Tap a device to see its details — a payment terminal's row, for example, shows its serial number. Bluetooth devices offer "Disconnect"; every device also offers "Remove" to take it off this register entirely.
Step 5
To pair a new Zebra scanner, tap "+ Add Zebra Device" and follow the on-screen steps: connect the cradle to the hub via USB, scan the reset barcode shown, then scan the pairing barcode shown.
Checking Configuration Sync
Step 6
Under "Data," check "Updated" to see when this register last pulled its settings. On stores still using manual config checks, you'll also see "Current configuration" (a hash) and "Last checked."
Step 7
If you see it, tap "Check for update" to refresh it manually instead of waiting.
Getting Support Info and Sending Logs
Step 8
Under "Support info," note your app "Version" and config "MD5" — support may ask you for either of these on a call.
Step 9
Tap "Send Logs" if support asks for them. The button updates from "Send Logs" to "Sending Logs" to "Logs Sent" as it packages up device and configuration details and uploads them for a support agent to review.
What It Looks Like
A connected Bluetooth device in "Hardware" shows a Bluetooth icon next to its name.
The app version on "Support info" reads as, for example, "Version: 1.0.0(1)."
A disconnected payment device shows as "Verifone M450 - Disconnected", with its Model, Address, and Serial all reading "Unknown."
Troubleshooting
Looking for a way to contact support or chat from inside the app: there isn't one — "Support info" only shows your version/config and lets you send diagnostic logs. Reach out to support the way you normally do, then come back here to send logs if they ask.
"Adyen device" isn't showing in Settings: that tab only appears when your store's Adyen integration is turned on — check with your admin or support if you expect it to be there.
Config looks out of date: check "Last checked" under "Data," and tap "Check for update" to refresh it manually instead of waiting for the next automatic sync.
